Using the service
ChronoLedger provides a free, browser-based tool for checking word count, reading time, readability score, and estimated reading level of text you provide. The Service is offered for informational and editing purposes only.
No guarantee of results
Reading Ease, Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level, and reading time are calculated using standard formulas based on sentence length and estimated syllables per word. These are editing aids, not guarantees. A good readability score doesn’t guarantee better search rankings, audience engagement, or publishing success.
Your content
You’re responsible for any text you paste into the analyzer. Please don’t submit content that’s illegal, confidential, or that you don’t have the right to use. As explained in our Privacy Policy, this version of the tool processes your text in your browser and doesn’t intentionally transmit it to our servers — but as a general practice, avoid pasting sensitive personal or confidential information into any online tool.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Site (for example, through automated scraping, bots, or denial-of-service attempts)
- Reverse-engineer, copy, or resell the Service without our permission
- Systematically extract the Service’s underlying methodology to build a competing product
Intellectual property
The Site’s design, branding, text, and underlying code belong to ChronoLedger or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without permission. You keep all rights to the text you analyze — we don’t claim any ownership over it.

Our blog or other pages may link to third-party websites. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or practices. Visiting them is at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChronoLedger won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including decisions made based on the readability or word-count results it provides.
Changes to the service or terms
We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and we may revise these Terms as the Site develops. We’ll update the effective date above when we do. Continuing to use the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
